TITLE:     900 Hour Clerk

 

REPORTS TO AND IS EVALUATED BY: Principal/Assistant Principal

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  900-Hour Bargaining Unit Position; 10-Month Work Year/Student Days (5 hours per day);  In accordance with PESPA Collective Bargaining Agreement. 60-day probationary period applies for performance and benefits.

 

AVAILABLE:  December 2026

 

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:  To monitor and record student attendance in accordance with state law and District policy and procedure.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Process paperwork for students reporting in late as well as those seeking early dismissal. Receive and process all early dismissal requests and absence notes. 
  2. Communicate, verbally and in writing, with parents, faculty and administrators regarding student tardiness, early dismissals and absences.
  3. Input daily attendance information; e., tardy, early dismissal and absence, into the student information system.
  4. Maintain an accurate, comprehensive and efficient filing system for absence slips, early dismissal notes, letters to parents, etc.
  5. Print reports weekly and track student absences.
  6. Prepare agendas and minutes for Attendance Meetings. Run absence reports and be prepared to discuss student attendance issues.
  7. Daily Communication with school Social Worker.
  8. Utilize the student information system to accomplish responsibilities of student accounting and attendance issues.
  9. Assist in the Main Office as needed.
  10. Assume other duties as assigned by the Principal or Assistant Principal(s).

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School diploma or GED required.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUISITE SKILLS:

  1. Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  2. Computer expertise, including Microsoft Office and computer skills.
  3. Demonstrates professional confidentiality is a must.
  4. Prior experience in an educational setting preferred.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  Clearances and Physical must be within 12 months and TB must be within 90 days of hire.

LIGHT WORK:  The incumbent should be able to exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

 

MEDIUM WORK:  The incumbent should be able to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.

 

HEAVY WORK:  The incumbent should be able to exert up to 75 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.

 

VERY HEAVY WORK:  The incumbent should be able to exert in excess of 100 lbs of force occasionally, and in excess of 50 lbs of force frequently, and in excess of 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
